The 2023 Ibero-American Film Festival in Miami began with the screening of the Argentine film The Manager (2022), by Ariel Winogard, based on a true story about a television company that launched a false ad saying that if Argentina did not qualify for the World Cup in Russia (2018), it would return money to paying customers.

Argentina was the guest country of that IAFFM edition, and on Wednesday, January 25, the program included a tribute to Argentine director Juan José Campanella, winner of the 2010 Oscar for Best Foreign Film for El secreto de sus ojos.

Participating countries in the festival included artistic and documentary films from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Uruguay.

The aim of the festival was "to promote our diversity, our stories, our message of social impact, our culture, our flavors and our emotions," IAFFM director Fernando Arciniega told EFE.

That year, the festival also announced three world premieres: Allanamiento, Cuando duerme conmigo and Estoy todo lo iguana que se puede.

The event took place at the Silverspot Miami cinema complex and featured awards such as Rainbow Flamingo, Contemporary Visions, New Talent, Short Films and AniMiami. A new work-in-progress section also included private screenings for industry personalities.
